The four of us were taking a walk yesterday when my wife commented on how beautiful it was out – mostly sunny, 80 degrees, and a cool breeze make for a nice combination. My older daughter, Katherine, agreed. “Something something something, I’d walk around smelling every shoe.”
That brought me up short. Mostly because I only heard the second half.
“You’d smell every shoe? What?!?”
CJ jumped in. “Katherine likes the smell of new shoes, so she said if this were a shoe store she’d go around smelling all of the new shoes.”
If I hadn’t figured it out, this pretty much clinched it for me. My daughter was a little weird, but she has a good sole.
