About a week ago, CJ broke out a set of magnetic letters and numbers, and covered the fridge with them. Katherine decided to put them to good use that first day by spelling out the question "When did we get these".
And so began the Message Wars.
Now it’s become a game – one of us leaves the others a message on the fridge. Once everyone else has seen it, someone takes it upon themselves to put a new message up. Since we’re limited to one set of uppercase letters, one set of lowercase letters, and a set of numbers, Katherine and CJ have been trying to out-do each other with how creative they can be with the letters. For example, turning a W upside down to become an M, or combining a lowercase T and V to become an E.
Lucy has also been getting into the fray. Her messages tend to be single dozen-syllable words, though. When she reads the message, it sounds vaguely Klingon. (And I mean that in the best possible way – I’m proud of both of my geek girls!)
Yesterday morning we discovered a new message on the fridge, courtesy of Katherine:
Terrific. My fridge has become the Chamber of Secrets, and now I have to be on the lookout for giant snakes that can kill with a glance. As if I didn’t have enough to worry about.
