Last night was a big night for Katherine and several of her classmates. They advanced to the third and final round of the Global Reading Challenge for her school district!
The students have to read 10, pre-selected books ahead of time, and then compete with the other teams by answering questions about the books. (The moderators made a point of saying that these books are above and beyond the students’ normal reading.) The team with the most number of correct answers wins (ties are settled by simply asking additional questions until a winner emerges).
Last night’s was a close match – her team won by a single question – and the final round promises to be even harder. Both CJ and I encouraged her to re-read all of the books before the final round, which is less than two weeks away.
We are so proud of this team of six. Go Panthers!
