Katherine took the SAT on Saturday, and came home a little fried.
Ok, maybe more than a little. At least she stopped drooling by dinner time.
And she wasn’t the only middle-schooler to do so. Apparently there were whole herds of them taking it. You see, in our county, the SAT is used as the entrance exam for the academically talented program for 7th- and 8th-graders.
Maybe I’m missing the point, but doesn’t it seem a little counter-productive to see if a given student is ready for an advanced course of study by giving them a test that burns out their brain cells?
